Zoey/Artemis

Zoey is perfect and has settled right in. She had a good night, sleeping next to Bambi in the master bedroom. They woke up, had a good play and are now waiting for me to get home at lunch. She is a love, very affectionate and we are grateful that we have her. Please do not hesitate to check in with me from time to time. I am confident she is already part of our family. Thank you again.

Jack

Hello PMM,

Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how Jack is doing - fabulous.  He is a very well behaved dog, who also happens to be housebroken.  He gets along great with all three kids and he is adorable.

Thanks for everything and good luck.

Trixie

Hi Morgan,
Brought Trixie to vet. We had to get an assistant b/c she really doesn’t like shots! When they were done, she ran over to me and hid her face in my arm. Love that girl. We are going to start obedience training so she knows to come when we call and stuff. She’s really calming down and getting comfortable. Last night, she actually stayed downstairs asleep on the couch when we all went up to bed. My son had to come down to get her. She had gone for a very long walk that day though so I think she was exhausted.
Here’s some more pics. My daughter Leah dancing with Trixie.

Lady

Just wanted you to know that Lady is doing really well already! Definitely feeling insecure (following me around like a little shadow), but that’s to be expected!
She is loving the backyard and was amazed that she could go out there unsupervised! She seemed reticent to go out there at all by herself, but then figured out that it was a good place to go pee, if needed!!
The car ride home was totally uneventful between the two dogs (we were amazed), but our other dog is NOT crazy about her being in the house here! He’s barked at her, they had one little fight over an old bone (our fault) and now he’s taken to whining and crying when he sees Lady getting attention from us! He’s a punk!
We think in about a week they will be friends - it’s been 3 months since our other dog died and Koty’s had the total center of attention.
Lady is now laying at my feet while I’m typing this!! Such a sweet girl!
She went on her first “official” walk and she was very nice to another female dog up the street…She also was amazed by the sounds of the seagulls. We live across the street from the ocean and walk out on a big landing that juts out into the ocean! She’ll also get to go on our boat this summer and go fishing and whale watching and see and do all kinds of new things!

Two questions - is she really THAT hungry all the time? She really seems like she’s starving! Follows me into the kitchen given any chance and begs for food! We fed her right away when we got home and then again after our walk. She gobbled it all up and has had a few good treats, as well!
Also, is she 4 or is she 6? Only the paper work that you filled out, Jill, said she was 6. All of the other certificates from Tennessee and elsewhere say she’s 4….Just wondered. It’s fine either way, but we’d be even happier if she was 4 - that’s 2 more years with us!
Well, it’s been a long day for all of us, so my husband and I are going to watch movies and just let everyone settle in.
Thanks again for all of your efforts and transporting her all the way to Walpole…That was really great.
Will keep you posted.
Take care,
Lisa (and Dan and Koty and Lady)

Sully

OMG we love him!  We ended up changing his name to “Sully” (after going from Buddy to Bruschi to Sully).  Mac is a bit jealous of him though, lol.  But I gotta tell you, he gives Mac a run for his money.  He’s not afraid of Mac at all, and I think that Sully is going to be the dominant dog.  He’s got balls the size of Texas, despite being neutered, lol.  We’re trying to be more vigilant with watching him because he’s had a few accidents when we’ve not been watching.  And you were right on the money about when he wakes up..  this am was 5:59 and yesterday was 5:56!  I think he’s peed a bit in his crate, which I’m not sure if he’s doing it on purpose or he’s leaking while he’s sleeping.  We noticed that he drinks a lot of water too.  I’m trying to cut down on the water during the day and I give him water in his dry food, making it a little soupy.  I’ve always fed Mac like that too, and he really doesn’t drink much water other than what he drinks with his meals.  It seems to keep Mac on a bathroom schedule and I’m hoping Sully will get to that point eventually but it will take some time.  And his little puppy noises are sooooo cute!!!!  He’s just a love!  I brought him into work on the way home on Thursday and everyone was oohing and aaahing over him.
